Most Anticipated of 2017: Part. 3

Part three of our most anticipated albums of 2017 features our writer Meghan D'Amico's thoughts! Check it out!

Can't Swim - TBA

Pure Noise Records

Keansburg, New Jersey four-piece Can’t Swim have been a band barely a year and are already skyrocketing thanks to their catchy EP, “Death Deserves a Name” and playing on quite a few tours this year such as Four Year Strong, Moose Blood, Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties and Set Your Goals. Around the beginning of November we had sampling of what the full-length record would sound like with “Strangers.” I’m very excited for this because as soon as I saw them last March with Four Year Strong, I immediately was hooked not only by the lyrics but also by Chris LoPorto’s intense vocals and emotion he puts into every song. Look for them this spring on supporting Four Year Strong on their “Rise or Die Trying” 10-year anniversary tour, American leg. Check out the latest video for “Strangers” here.

Niall Horan- TBA, TBD

Capitol Records

Niall Horan was formerly of the gigantic boy band, One Direction. When they decided to take a break as of Halloween 2015 after years of incessant touring they all said they’d explore solo music. Niall Horan was the first to sign a solo record deal with a label, and he was also the first to release a single that was immediately picked up by girls and radios everywhere. “This Town” is cute and the first time I heard it, it was very weird to hear only Niall and not everyone in 1D but I grew to like the song and I’m very excited to see what he writes by himself only having to factor in one voice rather than 4 or 5. If “This Town” is a cue for the new record, count me in. (Also count me in on any of the other three’s solo records but that’s a different story...) Motionless in White-Graveyard Shift, TBD

Roadrunner Records

It’s seemed like Scranton, PA metalcore outfit Motionless in White have been teasing their audiences about the new record for what seems like a year. Right before the Vans Warped Tour of 2016 started they released a new song to “hold over” their fans until the eventual new record comes out. They also switched labels, which has further delayed the process. But judging by the song released last summer, “570” they are back to being heavy and just as in your face as they have been on previous records. “570” celebrates the official 10th anniversary of the band forming in Scranton with the single artwork being a nod to their home with “Scranton: The Electric City” sign on a building. Catch them currently on tour with Falling in Reverse, Issues and dangerkids. Check out 570 below.

Creeper- Eternity, In Your Arms, March 24, 2017

Roadrunner Records

UK emo band Creeper is set to release their debut full length on Roadrunner after touring the U.S. on their first headliner last summer. Anyone who’s familiar with the songs that are currently out from the record, “Suzanne” and “Hiding With Boys” knows that this record will probably be what to be expected, due to Will Ghould’s very distinct voice. Between their tour with Waterparks and the exposure I expect they’re going to get in the next year for this record be prepared for Creeper to be huge. So get familiar with them now before they are. Here is the official video for “Hiding With Boys” to get familiar.

Paramore- TBA, TBD

Fueled by Ramen

This has to be in my top 5 of most anticipated of 2017 because so little is known about it. Hayley Williams posted several pictures over the summer of her with Taylor York and ex-Paramore member, Zac Farro. This of course caused the fanbase to go into a frenzy, which was just further stoked by the pictures, and the end of the studio updates. I would expect it to be announced mid year and maybe out by December. Although, anyone else’s guess is a good as mine about title or arrival. All I know is that the self-titled record was huge for them and I will expect nothing less of the now duo, Hayley and Taylor.
