SHOW REVIEW AND GALLERY: VOLUMES
Emily attended the Silver Spring show of the Headspace Tour and was able to provide these wonderful photos for us. Here is a brief review of the show:
Sylar opened the show to get everyone warmed up. The lighting conditions at this venue were not ideal but regardless I made things work. This was my third time seeing Sylar, I believe and they have very good stage presence and a ton of energy. Their music is growing on me and they are very fun to watch, and to shoot.
Next was Too Close to Touch and these boys always put on a good show. They are some of my favorite people to watch on stage because not only does their music have a lot of passion, but the live performance has that same amount of passion. Mason Marble was unable to make it due to a family emergency so Patrick Hall, formerly from Chasing Safety, filled in. There were a lot of fans singing along which made me proud.
Volumes brought the energy to an entirely new level. Both front men have incredible stage presence and they kept the crowd going the whole time. There were a lot of crowd surfers during this performance and everyone was having a great time. This was my first time seeing volumes. It's also very nice when an artist promotes the safety of others and that is what Myke Terry does. Volumes is a band that will make everyone feel welcome.
Issues had an incredible setlist with a good mix of new and old favorites. I, personally was excited that they were playing love, sex riot. The production on this tour was absolutely amazing and was one of the reasons that I was so excited to shoot. Issues has always been one of my favorite bands and this tour has proved that I made the right choice. Each member of the band adds to the personality that is on stage. My only complaint is that Josh is so far away from everything because he's on top of the world.
