Interview; Bleeker
Bleeker is a Canadian alt/rock band that has been steadily gaining traction in the states over the past year or so! Their sound is an eclectic mix between the arena filling tunes of bands like Papa Roach, and Sum 41 and the smooth lyrical wit of artists like Jack White.
Next month Bleeker will be hitting the road with Badflower, and Beware of Darkness! Salazen will be catching up with them at their Philadelphia date, but before they hit the road they took the time to answer some "pre-tour" questions! Read what vocalist Taylor Perkins had to say below! Make sure to keep an eye out next month for an additional interview and some tour photos!
SM: You just toured France for the first time, how was that different than shows you've played around North America? TP: The biggest difference for myself is the language barrier when we are on stage. I always love talking to the crowd, make jokes etc and that becomes a little harder when I can't speak French! But for the most part it was very similar. Amazing, responsive crowds that made us feel at home and comfortable.
SM: What's one thing you're looking forward to doing when you come to Philly? TP: Cheese Steak. That and maybe playing music. SM: What about the upcoming tour will be different than previous shows you've done? TP: This will be the first time we play the states NOT supporting a bigger band! Which is exciting and scary at the same time. Going to be a great learning experience and a different vibe! SM: What's something the audience can expect from this upcoming tour? TP: We will be trying a lot of songs we've never played. Maybe a new cover song here and there. But for the most part, an energetic night. SM: Lastly, how are you preparing for this tour? Taking some time to relax? Practice all the time? What's it like psyching yourselves up to hit the road again? TP: For this tour, we won't have any time to really relax or prepare! We will be coming from another tour. I guess the shows leading up to it count as practice though, right?? Haha We just take it one day at a time and when it's over I'm sure it will be very bittersweet
