Review: SØF

The the cover art for SØF’s latest single “Shame on Me” immediately caused me to think of singer/songwriter Tori Kelly. The similarity between the artists’ wild curly hair and strong stares left me expecting a rather bold song after the first glance, and I was not disappointed. The bass-driven pop song is both catchy and relatable. The song is the writer’s response to realizing she was comparing guys to her ex-boyfriend and the lyrics really hit a chord with me, especially the chorus. “Shame on me for thinking that you could be so easily replaced,” and shame on you if you pass this song up without giving it a listen! Check out SØF’s other 2017 releases on Spotify and Apple Music if you’re a fan of female-fronted powerhouses like Little Mix, and solo vocalists like Sara Bareilles.
