Warped Tour Picks
Too Close to Touch - Emily
I'm most excited to see Too Close to Touch this year and that's also my reason for going to like 13 dates. First of all? They're all the nicest people and they're so funny. Their performance has an energy level unlike any other. Keaton pours out his passion into every song and the entire band radiates that same passion. I've come to love all of their music especially after seeing them for like two weeks on the Waterparks co-headliner. Another band that I'm stoked to see is Creeper, they were amazing on the Waterparks/Too Close tour and they are truly going to blow up.
Honorable Mentions: Our last night, the White Noise, Hands Like Houses, Boston Manor and NECK DEEP!
Bad Seed Rising - Carmyn
I'm excited to see Bad Seed Rising on Warped Tour once again, they are so young and have already produced a full length album with powerful storytelling, emotional vocals, and mature music. I've had the pleasure of interviewing them and learned a lot about and from them. They are huge inspirations to me and have helped me create my art, can't wait to see where Bad Seed Rising goes with their music and who else they inspire this summer on Vans Warped Tour 2017.
Honorable Mention: After listening to Too Close to Touch for the first time I was instantly effected by lead singer, Keaton Pierce's lyrical storytelling and vocal range. This band is amazing to see live and leaves the audience wanting more no matter how long the set is.
William Control - Emmeline
This year at Warped Tour I’m really looking forward to seeing William Control. The electro/rock group started as William Francis’ side project to Aiden back in 2008, and is now the singer’s full-time venture. The band put out a new EP in February and just finished a tour with Andy Black, who is also featured on Warped’s lineup. I've heard a bunch of great things about William from friends and really dig the group's style, but this tour will be the first time I'll finally be able to see them live.
Honorable Mentions: American Authors, Neck Deep, Tillie and Bad Omens.
The White Noise - Kayla
I would go to Warped Tour this year even if The White Noise was the only band I knew on the lineup because they're 100% worth it. I've seen these guys live more times than I can count, and every single live show is full of energy, and content. The White Noise hasn't been a band for very long, and as of right now they only have out an EP, but like I've said before those six songs pack more of a punch than most bands can muster in a full length. They are energetic, and charismatic, but above all they make incredible music. Combining classic punk elements with something fresh and new is incredibly exciting to see. The lyrics are strong, and relatable, and I couldn't speak more highly of them if I tried. So do your self a favor and watch The White Noise kill it at the Skullcandy stage!
Other acts I'm stoked to watch: Neck Deep, Bad Seed Rising, Sylar, and Hands Like Houses! See you this summer!
Hands Like Houses - Sierra
Hands Like Houses is one of those bands that makes a statement with every show they play. They never cease to amaze me with the stage presence each member brings and it makes their shows so enjoyable. Their newest music truly makes a statement and I'm definitely excited to see what songs they bring to Warped this year. If you've never seen them before, they're definitely going to win your hearts. This years warped seems to be a good one to find new music, so I seriously recommend you check them out. Who knows, they might be your new favorites!
Honorable Mentions: The White Noise, Our Last Night, Sylar, Boston Manor
Neck Deep - Meaghan
When the Warped Tour line up was officially announced I knew I wanted to go. One of my favorite bands, Neck Deep got announced for the main stage. They are so much fun live and full of craziness in the best way. The vocalist Ben Barlow knows how to get the crowd involved and moving around. This will be their first US tour of the year and I couldn't be more stoked to see them. Definitely check em out this summer and their last record, Life's Not Out to Get You.
I hope everyone discovers their new favorite band this summer with so many good bands on it.
Honorable Mentions: Silent Planet, The Acacia Strain, Knocked Loose, Counterparts, Trophy Eyes, Movements, The White Noise, Creeper, Hands Like Houses, Hundredth, William Control and Boston Manor.
